Cycle from Amsterdam Noord into the flat countryside, visit a historic windmill, cross a canal by cable ferry, then kayak through the wetlands near Watergang. Guide Tristan supplies bikes, kayak gear, water, and local insight. Expect about five hours, 13-plus miles of cycling, and a real workout.

“Tristan was an amazing host. The cycle ride through the countryside was beautiful but the head winds on the return were a challenge for me. Kayaking through the country canals and then into the village was incredibly picturesque. An awesome experience which I would do again. Thank you Tristan for a memorable experience.”

Join Majel for a five-hour canoe trip from Amsterdam into Waterland. After a short bus ride and village welcome, paddle flat canals past reeds, farms, birds, and small bridges. Stop on an island for a local picnic, with vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options.

“A wonderful tour with a very knowledgeable Dutch guide. Majel shared a wealth of information about Dutch history, culture and wetlands management. This is a very easy canoe trip on flat water all the way. Our mid-week tour consisted of 6 people, most of whom were retirement age. We saw ducklings, newborn lambs, and quaint Dutch villages. The picnic was very generous and you certainly will not walk away hungry. We will do this tour again the next time we visit Holland. Highly recommended!”

“We almost didn't book this because of scheduling, but I am so glad we did. This was a fantastic time. You meet Majel at a Central station, take a small bus ride, and you're into the wetlands/countryside outside of the city. You walk through a beautiful small town and Majel invites you in like you're friends - into her home for a quick overview of what you're doing to do, some history, and a drink. While there, you get to meet some of her ducks, her cat, and some of the other animals in the village. Then you get on the canoes and you're on your way. I grew up…”
